Elettaria Cardamomum also is known as cardamom is a perennial plant from the ginger family native to south India - cultivated widely in tropical regions, traded to the world from India. The green seed pods of cardamom are dried and the used in Indian and Asian cuisines. Research points to antimicrobial agents present, so the essential oil extracted from cardamom is used across mouthwash, paste and oral care product manufacturers. Cardamom Essential Oil smells spicy, woody, rich and sweet. The main constituents are Cineolea, Terpinyl Acetate, Linalyl acetate, Limonene & Linalool. The intense flavour of the spice makes it a perfect addition to processed foods. These oils are used in aromatherapy as well.
